Lesson 2: Setting The Right Price For Your Services
Overview
In this lesson, you will learn the importance of aligning your pricing with the quality of your training, the level of service you provide, and the value you bring to your clients. Setting the right price is not just about covering your costs—it is about positioning yourself as a professional, building trust, and contributing to the growth of the industry.
You will gain a deeper understanding of how your skill level, tools, effort, and overall brand influence what you should charge. This lesson will also guide you in choosing a starting price that reflects your certification level while remaining competitive and sustainable.
By applying these principles, you can price your services with confidence, maintain the integrity of your work, and play a part in raising the standard for professional nail services.
By the end of this lesson, you will learn how to:
• Recognize the key factors that affect your service pricing
• Understand how your training and certification impact your value
• Position your services in a way that reflects professionalism and quality
• Set a sustainable pricing structure that supports your growth and the industry’s future
Training and Skill Level
The extensive training and expertise you have gained should be clearly reflected in your pricing. Clients are paying not just for the service, but for the skill, experience, and quality of care that you provide. High-quality training like ours equips you with advanced techniques and knowledge, and this should be acknowledged in your pricing structure. It's also a good practice to share with your clients, either through personal conversations or on your social media platforms, that you have undergone professional training and are certified. Communicating this to your clients helps build trust and justifies your pricing. It can also serve as a strong foundation for setting your initial prices or implementing a price increase.
Products and Tools
The products and tools you use during your services play a significant role in determining your pricing. High-quality, professional-grade products ensure better results and longer-lasting manicures, which justifies a higher price point. Clients are often willing to pay more for premium products that deliver superior outcomes. Make it known through your booking information or social media pages that you exclusively use professional tools and products that are only available to industry professionals like yourself. This transparency not only reinforces the value of your services but also builds client trust and confidence in your work.
Time and Effort
Consider the time and effort you put into each service. A well-executed Russian manicure, for instance, requires precision, attention to detail, and patience. Your pricing should reflect the meticulous care and dedication you invest in each client’s experience.
Market Positioning
Pricing also plays a role in how you position yourself in the market. By setting a higher price point, you signal to potential clients that you offer a premium service, which can attract a clientele that values quality over cost. This, in turn, helps to elevate the entire industry by setting a standard for what professional nail services should be.
If you feel that your current market may not support this pricing structure, we recommend offering the Russian Manicure as an upgrade rather than making it your basic service. This approach allows you to maintain its value without having to offer it at a very low price point.
Recommended Pricing Structure
For now, we recommend starting your service pricing at a minimum of PHP600 if you are L1 Certified, PHP 800 if L2 Certified, and PHP 1000 if L3 Certified. This tiered pricing structure ensures that the value of your training, skills, and the quality of products you use are accurately reflected. It allows you to earn a fair amount while also contributing to the overall elevation of the industry.
In the future, we plan to delve more deeply into training on pricing your services, where we will explore strategies based on various factors such as client demographics, competition, and service differentiation. For now, we encourage you to start with a pricing structure that aligns with the quality of your work and helps to raise the standard within the nail industry.
Thank you for your understanding and commitment to excellence. By setting the right prices, you not only ensure your own success but also contribute to the growth and professionalization of the entire industry.
